• Phyllis Mabbett, RN, PhD

  • Dr. Mabbett’s position as Director for Continuing Education Alliance, is a natural culmination of a career which has taken her through clinical practice, education and health care administration. The opportunity to join with 3 other visionary colleagues to establish Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine was a highlight of her career as a Scripps Health Administrator.

As an educator and professional speaker, Dr. Mabbett is known for her dynamic style and engaging presentations. For many years, she has studied and tracked the responses of people who successfully maintain personal positive energy while working in demanding and exhausting work conditions. Her “Vitality Training Programs” are based on her clinical research into these rejuvenating response patterns.

The theme of promoting optimal health and wellness runs throughout Dr. Mabbett’s career. As a member of the team at Dr. Brad Eli & Associates, for many years she has provided psychological services for patients grappling with chronic pain conditions. In 2016, she responded to an invitation to develop an educational program for Respiratory Therapists in the area of Sleep Apnea and related conditions. Between 2016 and 2019, this course was offered to several classes of senior RT students. Now, this course is available by special arrangement with healthcare entities.

Dr. Mabbett holds a B.S.N. from the University of British Columbia (Vancouver, B.C.), an M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Simon Fraser University (Burnaby, B.C.) and a Ph.D. granted by the University for Humanistic Studies (Del Mar, CA.)
